Artists: Giles Bryant, Sarah & Jon Barker Species: Homo conscious
Giles Bryant, also known as Friar Tuck from the band Turiya is a musican (songwriter, vocalist, guitarist), yoga teacher and founder of the World Healing Project. I met Giles at the Sunrise festival this summer whilst handing out Whale Of A Time flyers. We immediately discovered that we have similar aspirations sharing our enthusiasm and love for caring for our planet, people and animals. Giles has been much inspired by the Whale of a Time projects and wrote the song Whale of a Time, which we recorded together and released with Crystal Sea of Blue featuring deep emotions from the whales. We actually used live recordings of the whales from www.whalesong.net which have been recorded by Kent Noonan who is the technical director using a hydrophone. “This is incredible recording material and shows how much their creativity is compared to the one of humans.” Sarah (vocals) and Jon (vocals & bells) from the band Turiya are a musicans and also work on documentaries. I met Jon and Sarah through Giles this summer. Jon has been much inspired by the Whale of a Time projects and we are planning to work on a wildlife documentary together. One of our projects was a concert with Turiya at Wethersfield Art Centre to showcase the Whale of a Time EP featuring Turiya & the Whales for fundraising our future projects. The Whale of a Time EP is available to buy at the Whale of a Time Shop where you’ll be able to listen to a sample of the music. What we’re doing is getting the message through to every single person we meet. We found that our mission has no ends and it makes the experience meaningful and exciting. Our dream is to inspire people to express themselves and to lead by example for a harmonious positive world. Working with sound is a wonderful way of communicating those feelings that we can’t speak about and that are deep inside each one of us. It’s a realisation of a dream and we want everybody to share it with us. Let’s all work together and keep dreaming! Keep up the great work, Turiya!
